Bathroom sink faucet won't "pull out" to turn on
Hi
I have a single handle bathroom sink faucet that will not pull out to turn on.
The faucet hadn't been used for months because I had to replace the j-trap. That has been done but now there's something wrong with the handle.
I have no idea what brand it is but I know it's pretty old.
Here is a pic:

Any advice is very much appreciated!
Thanks
Colin

Its a Moen. replace the cartridge. Its a 1225B. Get at the home store..
MOEN Single-Handle Replacement Cartridge-1225 at The Home Depot
Turn water off h/c under the sink
Remove outer chrome ring/sleeve
Remove horseshoe clip and remove cartridge per instructions in package.
Install new cartridge and assemble reverse order.

Hi lawrosa
Thank for taking the time to respond. I really appreciate it.
I also posted this question on a plumbing forum and a guy just responded, "That is a Moen faucet. It needs a replacement cartridge #1200. Call Moen and they will send you one free of charge."
Is he wrong? Do you need more pics?
Thanks again

Its a 1225 .... I posted a link to the part at the home store...
Yes they may send you a new one.. But you pay shipping and have to wait.. IMO $20 bucks is cheap to just go out and buy it... Up to you...

I called Moen and without any problems they're sending me a free 1225 cartridge. They said shipping was free unless I wanted it upgraded.
I don't mind waiting on it as the faucet hasn't worked for months any way.
Thanks so much for your help. I really do appreciate your time.
