Slow draining bathroom sink

My bathroom sink has a slow drain. I use a drain cleaner and it flows freely for a month or two and then starts to slow down again. I am the only one who uses it and the only things that go into it are toothpaste, soap, and shaving cream. Any ideas for a permanent solution?

Thanks,

W. Wolfe

I would suggest stop using the chemical drain cleaners, and remove and inspect the trap. Then snake the drain pipe at this area .

Permanent solution.
It depends. If you have old cast iron pipes the solution is to go into wall and swap out cast iron sanitary tee with PVC or ABS. The water will flow much better and slow drains should be a thing of the past.

You might also try enzymes for drain cleaning. They can be in powdered or liquid form. With regular use they will digest most of the crud in your drain so it becomes more free flowing. No bio hazard or danger to you or the pipes.
