Sealing a toilet
Hi All, just curious why people SW Fl. Seal toilets in condo's when leaving them vacant for the summer months.

The toilets and all water lines are often drained, so you don't want someone coming into the house and using the toilet without any way to flush it. That's why we do it when winterizing their houses up in the mountains for their yearly migration back to sandy beaches and the houses they vacated back in the summer

I did some work on a rental a neighbor purchased. The water to the unit had been shut off while it was on the market. Someone used the bathroom during a house preview. There was no way to flush, guess what we found when we went to paint....

Well ,the reasons I get here are that if the traps dry out you can get roaches and other nasty things coming up through.

I use the antifreeze up north but never thought about it in SW Fl., we have been using Seran wrap.

Oh, wow. Memories! When wifey and I were dating last century, we liked to hike. After a while she said she had to go. I was resourseful and happened upon a sheetrock bucket, kept my head turned while she did. Thought I was a perfect gentleman
