hot water become cold 2nd fl bathroom

I recently purchased a raised cape cod houses with a finished attic (2nd fl). If you are using the shower on the 2nd fl and somebody turns on the 1st fl shower the 2nd loses the hot water and becomes cold. Can somebody please give me some advice on how to fix a problem like this. Thank you all and have a nice day

What is the setting on the hot water tank? How big is it? Do the pipes to the second floor, run up an outside wall?

I will check the setting when I get home tonight. It is a 50 gallon electric hot water heater. The pex pipes do not run along an outside wall. The 2nd fl works fine with lots of hot water until the 1st fl shower gets turned on. Then it seems that all the hot water goes to the 1st fl and none to 2nd fl.
