faucet washers replaced
I have a manufactured home and recently replaced the washers on the faucets in the shower but I must turn the handles as tight as possible to stop the flow of water. I don't know the proper names for the parts but the seats for these valves are made of plastic. I installed flat rubber washers as was in there before but for some reason it is hard to shut off the water flow. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

You may have installed the wrong washers. They should have been conical, not flat. Your old ones were probably flat due to wear. Locate the same size washer in conical and try that.

You also have to watch out with mobile homes/trailers and some frame-on modulars. Sometimes their fixtures are not the same common type used in houses and you have to get parts specifically for mobile home fixtures.
