Temptrol Hard to Move

I just replaced my Temptrol spindle assy because I had only cold water. It solved the problem, but now it's very hard to turn. The packing nut is as loose as it can be before water starts out squirting out of it.

Any ideas? Should I change the seats?

Hi, Its been about 10 years ago that I worked on them but they have a set screw on the valve that is for anti scald and it keeps the valve from turning too hot. Maybe you have it turned down to tight.

Turned out to be this. The gaskets and seals in mine were toast. Spins super smooth now.
