Gurgling in the tub...

Hi,

In my 50's ranch I have a simple bathroom, sink, toilet & tub. All's been working well lately but last night we dumped a clean bucket of water in the sink to get rid of it. During draining (seemed pretty normal) the tub started gurgling - I know the sink & tub share a drain. However this morning when taking a shower the tub didn't drain well, very slow. Did the water pressure from the sink drain push a clog or something closer to the tub? Best way to handle this?

Thanks!
Bob

It is possible you have a clog in the drain line. You may have had a partial clog in the sink trap and the huge surge of water washed it down to get caught somewhere else. I would snake out the lines and don't forget to clean the pipes under the sink and it's trap. Then remove the tub drain grate and clean out under it and it's trap.
