Shower Hose Recommendation?

I have a $10 shower hose which lasted less than 4 months, and I need to replace it. I'd like to buy a quality hose which will last a few years at least. I'd also like good value, if it's possible to get both quality and value.

Chrome is fine--I don't need brass or nickel or anything fancy. The shower head is a Moen (they tell me they don't replace shower hoses--other than that I like them).

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good hose and/or a good source for a shower hose?

What happened to your $10 hose to cause it to fail? Even the cheap ones should last longer than that, so curious what is happening.

It sprung a leak where the metal coil meets the nut which screws onto the shower head. (I assume that's a weak point for any such hose, and in this case the inner hose must have failed.) The sprung leak is not just a drip, but a spray.

Seems to me it was a washer problem and not a hose issue.

Okay, I put new washers in the old hose, and it still leaks. I have a new $10 hose in there now, but I'd still like to know if anyone has a recommendation for a higher-quality hose or online source.

Thanks for your help.

My house has been using stainless steel ones for a while like this one at Glacier Bay 86 in. Stainless Steel Replacement Shower Hose-3075-526 - The Home Depot and even if they're a little expensive they've lasted much longer for us, and they're a little easier to install and work with. Hopw it helps!
