Newbie Hot Water Valve Question

Hey,

I recently was turning on and off the hot water valve. Purposes why I was doing that really isn't relevant. After turning it on and off a couple times I noticed the strength of the water became weaker. Weeks later I came back to it to see if turning it off and on would magically fix something. Instead the hot water pressure became all but extremely week. I would imagine the old valve went bad and needs to be replaced. Is this right? Or could there be others things at play? Picture attached is the valve. Sorry, is 90 degrees to the left.

Thanks.

Yes, the valve needs replaced. You have plenty of pipe to cut back to fresh pipe.
I always cut back the pipe and clean it with emery cloth.
Use 2 wrenches and tighten the new compression nut until the ferrule grabs the pipe, then 1/2 turn and check for leaks.
Over tightening will cause leaks.

You need a 5/8" compression inlet (1/2" nominal) x 3/8 in. compression x 3/8 in. compression dual outlet valve.

Here's one:
Eastman 5/8 in. Compression x 3/8 in. Compression x 3/8 in. Compression Brass 1/4 Turn Dual Outlet Angle Stop Valve-48652LF - The Home Depot
