Moen cartrdige ID

Just as we were leaving daughter's house Memorial Day to drive home, remembered I hadn't fixed her intermittent drip in shower. Was going to replace cartridge. Did a quicky look at it by removing handle to look for a part number so as to get what I needed ahead of time for next visit. Unfortunately the part number I spotted and wrote down is not for the cartridge but is for the attached temp limiter (part #109113 which is tough to find, but is apparently superseded by 116653 if my research is correct?).

This is a Moen single handle, rotate only - counterclockwise to turn on - shower only valve. Near as I can tell that makes it a 1222 cartridge? Would just like to have confirmation before I stock up on the part (and tool, I suspect).

Secondary question, I now see there are a standard plastic cartridge 1222 and a brass "commercial" one, 1222HD. Appears they are interchangeable so question becomes is the brass one worth the extra $15?

As far as I'm concerned the extra $15 is not worth it. Besides this might be lifetime warranty.

I thought that would apply to original purchaser. The replacement ones, plastic is 1 year warranty, brass is 5 years.
