Toilet suddenly and intermittently drains noisily.

Recently had a house drain break under cement slab, and plumber installed new drain line in yard for half the house and a grinder pump to lift waste toward higher main drain. The bathroom drains are still on gravity flow, and the two pipes to the sewer connect in the yard outside the bathroom wall. The toilet intermittently-- maybe once every 2 days or so-- and noisily drains suddenly--otherwise works normally, has new flapper and fairly recent ballcock assembly. Could this be related to a suction created when the grinder comes on, or do I look elsewhere? Many thanks for any suggestions.

It sounds like your drain piping is not properly vented.

Thanks. I'll look into that. Drains were installed by licensed plumbing company and passed county inspection, though.
