Leaky single handle sink faucet
The faucet in my sink began to start leaking very badly the other day. Looking under the sink, the leak is from above where the water pipes connect to the sink fixtures. I turned off the water lines and took off the handle (see the pictures below for the type of faucet and the handle-off pic); what should i do now? The guided I've read mention a retaining ring; is that what the blue thing is? And if so, how would one remove it? If not, how would I remove the cartridge as it is?
Thank you for any help!
Here is a picture of the faucet: https://www.dropbox.com/s/el6jlk4eqc...aucet.jpg?dl=0
Here is a picture of the faucet without the handle and what I presume is the cartridge:

The brass ring with the notches in it is the retainer ring for the guts of the faucet. You can try to tighten it clockwise to see if it stops your leak. If you want to inspect, you can remove by turning counterclockwise. Inspect the plastic parts for cracks.
