Toilet valve

Hi All, Fluid Master fill valve, tank is full, flush toilet and tank won't refill, turn water supply off under toilet then back on ,tank fills and flushes and repeat the same procedure, we replaced the fill valve and everything is fine,we took apart the old and everything was clean , has anyone else experienced this problem?

Have never taken one apart but sounds like float was sticking.

Need a little more info. When you flush, does the water try to fill the tank? Or is there no flow what so ever?

If the connecting hose is a Watts Flood Safe (or competing brand equivalent) it could be the excess flow valve is weak and shutting off the flow "thinking" it is a large leak. Try closing the supply valve and then just opening it a little to see if it makes a difference. The toilet will fill a lot slower with the valve throttled.
