1.2 gallons ain't enough for me

I installed the smallest toilet I could find, because my bathroom is quite small. I didn't realize I got such a small flush, 1.2 gallons.

Can I mate a larger tank on this? Such as a 1.6 gallon? Or is the bowl designed to go with the tank?

Doubtful, toilets are engineered as a single unit.

Interesting enough I recall we struggled with the 1.6 gallon toilets years ago but today we've adjusted the "process" without even thinking about it.

I suspect the 1.2 is just another learning phase!

I'm not a pro on this, but make sure the tube from the refill valve is dumping into the overflow tube. It isn't much but it helps maintain the water flow while refilling the bowl.

As for the flushing function, dumping the tank into the bowl, IMO, just about any tank would work and you can easily reduce the amount of water being delivered if needed. Yes, I'm a hack at times but I see lots of used tanks headed to the land fill.
