Need quick answer if possible- Price Pfister 1-handle tub faucet leaking

Last night for whatever reason our tub faucet started leaking cold water even when shut off, a pretty steady stream.

Does this call for a replacement cartridge only or do I need to replace the valve stem as well? I don't want to buy more than I need to as we may be replacing the whole shebang in a few months, I just want to stop the leak for now and I want to run out tonight to get the parts I need.

If it suddenly started leaking I would first try opening and closing the faucet several times. Maybe a bit of debris got in the seal and working it might clear it out. If that doesn't do it I would get a new cartridge. Don't forget to turn the water off to the house and bleed the water pressure down before taking the faucet apart.

Yeah I tried turning it on and back off a couple times, and looked at it when I took the handle off, but it's all the way off and still leaking. I'm gonna run out and get a cartridge.
