Removable showerhead won't fit on pipe

I bought a removable showerhead, but it's too big for the pipe in my shower. The pipe is 1" and the showerhead is 1 1/4". I guess I need some sort of pipe enlarger, but I'm not sure what search terms to use. Everything I'm finding when I try to search has one side male and one side female, and I need both sides to be female.

Standard shower arm is " about " outside diameter. Don't know where you are getting 1" from. Please post a picture. https://www.doityourself.com/forum/e...-pictures.html

Edit: do you mean an old fashioned ball joint shower arm or shower head? They do make adapters.

As Ray stated a standard goose-neck shower pipe is 1/2 IPS (iron pipe size). Your shower head should screw directly into the goose-neck coming out of the wall.

This is a typical goose-neck found on 99% of all showers.
