Shower does not turn on
I'm trying to use a shower in a cottage. It's on a bathtub that has a plunger on the spout that you can pull up, presumably to direct the water to the shower. There is a Moen shower control waist-high above that. You pull it out to turn it on, and turn it left & right for hot & cold. I'm not getting any water at the shower nozzle. I've tried all combinations I can think of--with the tub plunger in & out, etc.. Could it be that the Moen shower control has simply for some reason stopped turning on? If so, what should I do about it? Thank you.

The water should leave the faucet and go to the spout. Pulling the handle up should block off the flow out of the spout and the water should come out of the shower head. If it's not coming out of the shower head then it would usually be spraying out of the spout.
That would suggest a clogged shower head. Most likely it needs to be removed and the screen needs to be cleaned. You can just remove the head and see if water comes out then.

Thanks PJmax. This one has another valve--a shower-type, single-handle valve--between the tub faucet and the shower head. But the fact that there is absolutely no water at all showing up at the shower head makes me think it's not simply clogged. Is there something that can happen in a shower valve to cause this?
