Grohe? Temperature Control removal or adjustment

I have been researching this mystery for over a week, hardly sleeping and unable to shower. I have what I think is a Grohe thermostatic temperature mixer that only provides water at 95 degrees farenheit. I have been able to remove a few easy parts of the handle that screwed right off but I am stumped at the black plastic temperature indicator part of the handle. This part has a white plastic safety stop button in-set in the handle. How do I remove this part to make a water temperature adjustment and to clean this valve? It doesn't seem to want to screw off and I don't see any set screws anywhere.

While I'm not sure how that piece comes off, I do know that there should be a button in the trim that you can push to turn past that point and get hotter water. I think you can blame the BAR for making so many lawyers for this one.

If you still need it off, you can call Grohe at 800-444-7643.
