2 Garbage disposals

Can you install 2 garbage disposals in a 2 bowl kitchen sink. Any problems with that?

Sounds like one of the strangest things I've ever heard, but it could be done. You will likely be cramped on room behind and as far as space is concerned, you might want to have an elbow (downturn) coming out of each disposal, into each with their own slip joint trap... then use SJ adapters to go to your solid pvc as soon as possible. You will likely need to join them with a wye + one or more 45s. Turning them so that both traps are accessible in the middle might be easiest but it might also be a little conjested. One might need to go straight back while the other is at a 45. Or turning them both to the outside then swinging the trap arm to point back might give you more room to work. Hard to say exactly when we aren't looking at it, and don't know the drain location.

To be frank, that sounds like a bad idea times 2. I can't image why you would want that.

I'd also be concerned if you ran both simultaneously it might overwhelm the drain pipe.

I don't think you could run them both simultaneously unless you had 2 faucets.

Good point Joe! I've been on septic systems for 40+ yrs so I don't have a garbage disposal [or does the goat count?]
