Shower faucet screw
I have a single handle shower and am trying to stop a leak. The screw in the handle will loosen but will not back all the way out. It starts to "click" when I get to a certain point. Any ideas?

OK try pushing the handle in when undoing the screw.
Hard to say what is going on here.
Does the screw head come out past the handle?
If yes then as a last resort cut the head off, remove the handle and you will at least be able to see what you are dealing with.

Good job.
I don't recognize that fixture or handle type.
Where was the screw..... in the center of the handle ?

Given that the screw is loose and the handle will not move, I would try to work some CLR (calcium/lime/rust remover) in the vicinity of where the handle slides onto the stem. Obviously a tight fit either way, but I would try some from the front, hoping it might get past the screw, as well as from the back side of it. Let it work for a day or so and see if you can get the handle to move. Or if you don't have any CLR and happen to have some PB Blaster that would probably net the same result. I don't recall seeing one on a faucet handle, but given the clicking you mentioned I might wonder if the screw had a keeper on it to prevent it from falling out and down the drain. And for this reason I wouldn't try turning the screw any more until the handle started to come loose because if it's hanging right at the end of the threads in the stem you could possibly damage the lead threads on the screw or in the stem.
