Question Clogged upstairs shower: disposable razor

I dropped a disposable razor down the drain last year. I have tried a 25 ft snake, several drain cleaners the last being 3 gallons of lye over several weeks... to no avail. any ideas?

Try a large shop/wet vac. Assuming you havent completely dissolved your pipes yet.

Welcome to the forums.

If it's causing a clog.... it should be close or in the local trap.
Is it smoking from the lye ?

I have an image in my mind of you pouring lye/drain cleaner from a plastic bottle hoping that it will dissolve plastic. You will need mechanically remove the razor. The problem now is you may have shoved it anywhere with your previous attempts. Do you have any idea where the razor may be located? I assume it's not visible down the drain. Hopefully it's still in the trap.

Get a cheap endoscope cam and see if you can locate it before doing anything else.

Why or why do they sell drain cleaners?
Don't remember if I already related this story. Our store has paid for a new sink and pipes for a stupid (and I stress stupid) customer for pouring two bottles of sulfuric acid drain cleaner down her sink. All because she did not read the label nor the prominent warning signs on the store shelf. The excuse is that the associate did not verbally warn her of the cautions involved with sulfuric acid.

Because the companies advertise them on daytime TV.
