can't remove tub drain

Hello! Hopefully somebody could give me an advice or a suggestion on how to remove a tub drain. I tried to use the pliers and remove it by turning the crossbars, but i broke them. I tried using this tool https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , but I broke it as well. I tried this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but it doesn't fit. It's too big. I saw a few videos where people cut it out, but I am afraid that I will damage the tub. Are there are any other options? Any other tools that could help?
Thank you,
Joe

Most often I use pliers. If you broke your pliers I assume that was the pliers fault. I would try a good quality pair because I have broken the cross bars of the drain several times but have never broken a pair of pliers.

I have a machine shop so I made a special tool for removing the drains that is similar to this. Still, most often I just use pliers and a screw driver since that's what I always have with me and I'm too lazy to walk back out to the truck for the special tool.
