Bathroom sink faucet turned off but water still runs.
I have a 2 handle sink faucet where the hot water runs even when the handle is turned off. I bought a new cartridge to replace, but it is still not working. Need help.
Thanks

Here's another lesson learned: NEVER NEVER buy a store brand faucet such as Aqua Source from Lowes, Glacier Bay from Home Depot or Tuscany from Menards. Always buy name brand faucets such as Delta or Moen.

You didn't tell or show us what faucet you have or what cartridge you tried so we can only help so much.
My first thought is you have the wrong cartridge/stem or it's installed incorrectly.

Sorry. I have an Aquasource faucet. I bought a replacement at Lowe's called a Danco 3S-11H which is for AquaSource faucets. I even asked the guy there and he recommended this one. It looks exactly the same and is the same size as the original one. I installed it the same way as it came out. I did notice that once the bonnet nut is tightened the cartridge is still loose, but can't figure out why.
Here's what it looks like. Thanks.

I was reading the reviews for that cartridge and many people had problems with it. Danco left a technical support number for answering customer questions.
You can call our Technical Support Team at 1-800-523-5135 option #2 during our business hours (Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm CST) or if you prefer you can email them at support@danco.com.

Thanks! I went to Lowe's today to talk to someone there who said I had the wrong cartridge. So I bought the one he recommended- 3S-15H. Put it in and it's a little better but still water coming out. As I messed with it more, I noticed that if I pushed down on the cartridge the water got a lot slower and then stopped. When I let go it ran again. Wrong cartridge again? I'll call Danco but any other thoughts?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

The problem is without the original faucet part number..... you're at the mercy of the aftermarket companies.
Lesson learned: Keep instructions for faucets in a safe place for future reference.

I will second the "don't buy store brand" advice. Brand name faucets (Delta, Moen...) stand behind their products and will provide you replacement parts for free if you contact them and don't mind waiting for shipping and commonly needed replacement parts are almost always available at any plumbing supplier. Notice I did not say big box home center. It's often a roll of the dice what you will get there.
