Kohler Devonshire ultra glide valve replacement
My bathroom has the Kohler Devonshire K-394-4 faucet and the cold side is not putting much water flow out. (The hot side is fine.) We have a lot of minerals in our water supply so there's always a lot of corrosion. I thought I'd look at the cartridge and maybe replace it but I can't get the handle off. According to Kohler's videos and even some other YouTube videos I should just be able to twist the skirt off, but it's stuck. Even with a strap wrench I can't get it to turn. Any suggestions?

I guess ultimately the skirt just unscrews off but if you watch their video as well as that you tube one..... they show un-mounting the valve from the sink first and then unscrewing the skirt. The skirt hitting the sink may have it locked on or bound.
