Shower arm sealed in?

Hiya

I am trying to replace a shower arm but when trying to unscrew the arm I found that it seems to be sealed in (see picture). What is it and what should I do?

Thanks in advance!

It's probably just silicone and you should be able to unscrew it. If needed, pull the escutcheon down so it is out of the way and cut the caulking with a knife.
