Water too hot from bathroom sink faucet

Hi,

I have a single handle Delta. In the last few months, the faucet started to run really hot when it's placed in the middle (it was just warm before that). I have to turn the handle all the way to the right to get cold water -- at that position, the water will turn cold and I think the the cold water pressure is not enough. Most of time, I have to keep the handle about 1/3 toward the right in order to keep the water from running too hot -- even that might not be safe.

I'm a newbie. What could I do before I buy a new faucet?

Thanks

Are you experiencing excessive hot water at any other faucet ?
A faucet can't make the water any hotter than it is in the system.

Depending on the age.... a single handle Delta could be a cartridge or rubber valves.
Neither usually cause that problem.

No. Shower water in the same bathroom is normal. It feels like there is not enough cold water flowing -- if I turn the handle all the way to the right (cold), it will be come cold but the water flow is not very strong.

I would guess a lack of cold water could cause that.
Most faucets are easily rebuildable once they are identified.

How do I try to troubleshoot? I've tried to set the pressure reducing valve at different level of openness. But it does not help. Thanks
