toilet waits to refill tank

I replaced the lever and handle on my toilet on Saturday. Everything was working fine Saturday, Sunday, and this morning. In the afternoon, it decided to wait 2-3 minutes after every flush to refill the tank. This happened for 3-4 flushes. The last flush worked as normal but I didn't do anything. It just decided to be normal again. If this should happen again, what should I be looking for? Is the fill valve getting stuck?

Make sure the flush arm isn't hitting the float and preventing it from moving.

There are many types of fill mechanisms so unless you can provide info on which type you have I doubt you will get much specific info.

Here is a photo of the tank. It seems to be happening randomly but I think it depends on how long I hold the handle when I flush. If light, then it refills normally. Also, when it wasn't refilling, I opened it up and touched the bottom, black cylinder lightly and it came up and started to refill. What are your thoughts?

Any problems are a result of the fill valve, they are cheap and easy to replace if you are having trouble with it sticking or hanging up.

Replace it. I would suggest the non-mechanical type.
