Shower not giving hot water after changing cartridge?
Hey guys, we have a Moen shower faucet which started leaking and we replaced with original cartridge from Home Depot which looks exactly the same but after installing cartridge not getting hot water like before changing.
My question is this, if I should get a cartridge from Moen directly, will that make a difference or should I change the shower body please?

Thanks but I looked all over youtube and at the written instructions and in the videos the plastic piece which they all use is not the same as with the original cartridge which is this:

and I am not seeing a way to use the white plastic piece to adjust the water settings, this is the issue at hand? That whole white plastic piece simply pulls out and goes back in, no way to turn it left or right as I am seeing.

In 2 videos on youtube, this one at the 1.18 mark:

and this one at the 8.25 mark:

you can see the water temp control plastic piece is totally different from ours.

Ok so moen support said I should replace the cartridge but first flush the line then clean valve then put in the new cartridge. Question please, how do I clean the valve and exactly which part in the cartridge is this valve?

To update, we flushed the line and replaced with the new Moen 1222 cartridge but still got to wait until the 2 temp adjustment plastic pieces arrive. Meantime, I have 2 questions.
The brass stem has 2 flat sides, one flat side has one ridge and the other has 2 ridges, which one needs to be on top position?
Next, I am being told I can remove the white plastic piece which comes with the replacement cartridge, it is only a holder but if I remove it tand screw the handle into the stem then turning the handle will give a lot of hot water, is this correct please?
