Opinion staple gun or a nail gun

Hello,

I have a old rocking chair Inherited by my grandfather. The chair needs to be restored, but I have fear to damage it, because is very sentimental for me.
I want to refurbish, but the chair is composed by a strange fur. in order to re-use it i will need fabrics, and probably a staple gun, or a nail gun, Which one?
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums!

You'd use staples for the fabric, gun nails wouldn't hold.

I understand the sentimental factor. I have a rocking chair in my living rm that my grandparents bought at an estate sale to rock me in when I was a baby.

Use a narrow crown (7/32") stapler with short (7/8") staples. The staples tend to flare out slightly making them hold really well.

For upholstery I'd also recommend a pneumatic or electric stapler, much easier to get a very precise staple installed without having to fight the manual staple gun.
