snail mail

Several yrs ago the post office closed our local sorting office so now for our mail to go across town it has to first go to Knoxville. That means for a letter to go across town it has to travel over 200 miles.

A gal at church sent me a get well card on 10/11, it came today

It's still hanging on but not as bad as it was a few weeks ago!

You're still sick, therefore the card is still timely.

I often buy junk via eBay that comes from China. Sometimes I receive it in about 12-15 days and sometimes it takes 30 to 40 days, occasionally longer. Why? Beats me, especially when the delay is often a week or more between San Francisco and Seattle.

Here in Buffalo our main PO was demoted from a main sorting center to something less. All our mail goes to Rochester then comes to Buffalo for local delivery. However, I think a lot has to do with the neighborhood post office. My local PO (West Seneca 14224) is very good about delivering mail. But others nearby are not. We learned to bring our out going mail to West Seneca even though others might be closer.
