tube patch

I picked up a nail with my rear tractor tire Saturday So I took the tire off and sucked out all the fluid. This morning I took it to the tire store to get the tire unmounted and the tube patched. Took the guy 15-20 minutes. $40.00 Last time I took that tire down there it cost $50 but that included a new tube and 10 gallons of methanol. I still have to get the tire off my truck, on the tractor and pumped full of fluid. Guess I need to invest in a bead breaker.

side note,
why did I check the mailbox today, twice

Just wait until you take a flat rear tractor tire off a 1955 840 to get it fixed only to find the bead is broken. It's only been on the tractor since 1955. Cost of New tire is first born, plus $250, plus a new tube.

I've already been there, might have to go again I replaced both rear tires and 1 tube [if I remember correctly] for over $400 almost 25 yrs ago.
