Our lying newspaper had an article this morning stating that gas prices have risen 10 since the storm. Last week gas was just over $2 locally. Wednesday I paid $2.25 and while I was out today, every station said $2.49

Prices have gone up about .20 in my town. The corner station near my office was 2.45 this morning and 2.55 at lunch. Luckily this town is pretty low income so many don't have the money to fill their tanks or fill extra fuel cans so we have shortages less than other areas.

Up about .30 here over couple of weeks ago. Paid $2.49 this morning but have seen it as high as $2.65.

I have no idea of the local prices but heard on the tube that some stations were attempting to sell at $10 a gallon. At least one governor stated he would go after the "profiteers" with every legal means necessary.

That stated, gasoline is such a fluid and necessary commodity a shortage anywhere quickly turns into a shortage everywhere.

Compared to the $4 + per gallon about 5 years ago, I'll reserve my right to complain a little longer.

Hard to not complain as I've gotten used to $2 gas but I keep telling myself as long as it's under $3 a gallon I ought to be grateful. It never reached $4 here but it sure was flirting with it. ..... and hasn't it been more than 5 yrs ??

5 years ago, I was in Florida & it was $4 + per gallon. I base things on where I lived or worked at that time.

It's been longer than that here. Most of my wife's sisters were still alive. I just asked my wife when one sister died [2011] because she was still able to travel when gas prices came close to $4, we had taken her to Gatlinburg.

I think we all knew it was coming but that doesn't make us enjoy it. I won't be surprised if it hits $3 locally ......... hush my mouth!!
I just hope it's short lived and doesn't go higher.

I think it is mostly the timing that has people upset. The traditional rise in gasoline prices for the summer was late this year so we are experiencing both the late summer rise and the (real or imaginary) shortage causing prices to rise quite fast.

I don't care much myself. I drive so little that a tank of gasoline lasts me from four to six weeks.

I drove 1350 miles last week. Too much of it on I-95. I hate driving anything over 20-30 miles. Even more so on I-95.

We paid 1.13$ a liter in Quebec. About $3.25 a gallon US. I wonder if Harvey will affect their price. My guess is not.

I have a mental image of oil companies and retailers gleefully (and greedily) rubbing their hands together whenever there is a problem that impacts gas supplies.

$1.13 per liter would = $4.28 / gal. @ 3.875 liters per gallon.

The last time I was in Canada they still used the imperial gallon [5 qts] It was always a shock at how high gas prices were until you remembered it wasn't the same size gallon as in the US.

Whoops, I was thinking $1.13 US, not $1.13 CAN.

I filled up today on the Subase. Gas was $2.289 less than 2 weeks ago, $2.499 on the 1st of the month and $2.799 today. In town it's around $2.89 to $2.95.

Want to take bets that it will not return to the lower prices once the Houston situation clears up?

Traveling I90 SD and now WY Have seen prices from 128.9 and up. Average has been around 145.9. Bought gas in a country store the other day and gas was 130.0. Don't think I have ever seen that. Internet in and out every couple miles.

It's $2.79 here now. The next hurricane, Irma, might make it higher.

Ahhh, but Ron, you're in the land of milk and honey. You just KNOW all those additional dollars are being well taken care of.
