Question linoleum flooring removal

I am having a VERY difficult time removing the linoleum squares that I found under our carpet in the kitchen and the living room. Any hints? If not, can you tile OVER the existing linoleum if it is in good shape? Please help....

Are tiles nailed or tacked?? Carpet installers usually do that when they cover carpet over linoleum. If so, it'll be quite difficult to remove them completely.
If not, the most effective method is heat & scrape method.
Get a metal scraper with a rigid handle and a heat gun.
Start separating from one corner; heat the bottom side to soften the glue, then scrape around. Repeat the above step.
It's long, tideous process.

Yes, you can tile over tiles as long as it's somewhat leveled.
Do a very thorough clean-up for a maximum adhesion. Fill up all cracks, crevices & voids with spackling putty or equivalent.
