Question Vinyl Flooring

Hello Everyone,

I just bought a house and would like replace the old vinyl sticky tiles in my kitchen with new sheet vinyl. The problem I am finding is that for a sub floor the old owner used chip board. Do I have to rip this out and replace it with plywood or can I just go right over it. It's level and there are no gaps or anything. This would sure save alot of time and $$$$. Thanks in advance for any help.

You have used the term "chip board" . This is probably one of two products:

1. Oriented strand board (OSB) or
2. Particle board

Most who know, will say it is ok to use OSB but not particle board.
