Does anyone have any advice on how to install commercial tile on a concrete basement floor?

Commercial tile means VCT in the flooring world.

Since basements are notorious for high moisture vapor emissions(MVE) The installation might not last very long. Black ooze around each tile is in your future, because the moisture vapors once trapped with tile, with emulsify the adhesive.

Black cut back adhesive which is still around, is highly recommended for the installation in a basement. The moisture won't effect an oil based adhesive, like it will a water based adhesive like VCT clear spread.
