Dealing With Imperfect (Gapped) Vinyl Floor Seam

What's the best way to deal with a small gap in a vinyl floor seam? Can the hair-dryer heat trick allow the flooring to be pushed to close the gap? Is there any kind of caulk or grout that can be used to fill the gaps?

Thanks for any help!

Are you talking about a sheet vinyl or vinyl tiles?

Thanks for your response.

Sheet Vinyl. I attempted to follow the directions on this site and in a flooring book, but still ended up with small gaps. I've considered pulling up a couple of squares worth along the seam and fitting in a new piece, now that I've figured out how to cut a straight seam. But it occurred to me that it might be better to leave the single seam and fill in the gaps with matching flexible caulk or solid grout.

Have you sealed the seam?
