HELP! Underlay on Cement Slab?

Doing a bathroom remodel and have taken out the old flooring down to the slab (50 years of layers of tile!). We want to install new vinyl floor. Question is... how do we attach plywood underlayment to slab? (All those nifty fix-it books don't account for slab construction!) We assume some type of glue... recommendations? Other things to think about? THANKS!

This is what to use over a rough concrete floor.

If it's smooth you're good to go with the install. You need no plywood on concrete for vinyl.

Thanks but...

Thanks so much, Daniel! Appreciate the link and this stuff looks great to apply to the cement floor. However...

Our toilet flange is raised off the slab about 1/2" so we plan to lay down a plywood underlayment anyway to bring the floor to that level. So ... what do we use to glue down/attach the plywood to the slab?

Concrete, plywood and vinyl are a real bad combo. It is an installation waiting to fail. Search at the link I posted for a self leveling compound. That should siut your need.

Any flooring supply house wil;l have it. You could try the big box stores too.

Putting plywood on concrete is a real bad idea. If you get any kind of leak you will blow the floor out since there is no place for the moisture to go.
