Vinyl tile removal

To the experts:

I am re modeling my third bathroom in my basement, which is a walkout . I started to take the toilet out and the old vinyl tiles started to come out. The house is only 3 years old. Should I remove all of them before I start to install the new vinyl. Not sure if I will be using tiles or sheets. If you have any advice..please feel free to respond.

I agree, take it out. Why did the tiles come out? Were they stuck to the bottom of the toilet because of caulking or was there some moisture?

I would use sheet vinyl. but DIYers sometimes find vinyl tile easier to install.

This is a two part question? Where can I get a good delivered price on Karndean, Knight tile? The best price I have been able to get is $3.25 per square foot delivered! That is not to great for a tile that lists for $3.49 sq. ft. at all the local tile stores. The second question concerns underlayment. I bought a book that states do not use Luann as an underlayment because the pigments in the wood will "Leak" through the tile eventually and come to the surface of the tile! Is this true? The book said to use only APA-CA grade plywood whatever that means. However there is not a lumber store in my area that carries such a plywood according to them! This is two majo9r lumber companies and Home Depot and Lowe's. Lowe's sells a product called "Multiply" (I think). but it's $12.00 for a 4x4 sheet!
