Yellow stain on vinyl floor
I notice a yellow area where the rug sits on my kitchen floor. What causes this and what can I do to get the yellow stain off the otherwise light colored floor? I wonder if it could be turning yellow from putting the rug down before the floor is completely dry. Any help is appreciated.

It is permanent.
It is plasticizer migration, from the rubber backing on the rug, and the plastic wear layer on the sheet vinyl.
Replacing or patching the vinyl is the only way to remove it.
