White tile turned yellow/brown

I have 12x12 vinyl tile in my kitchen. 11 years old. Most of it is still white, but there is an area of about 8 tiles (traffic area by refrigerator and dog's drinking water) that has turned a yellowish brown color.

I have tried ammonia, bleach (not at the same time!), Comet cleanser, SOS pads, and Armstrong Floor Cleaner. None of them have done anything other than clean - no change in tile color.

Is there a way to get the white back on these 8 tiles? Or do I just need to replace them or re-tile the kitchen?

Thanks.

Hopefully there are some from the original install.

Has there been a rug with a rubberized back in that location? If so its permanent.

It could be from the moisture seeping under the tile and it may be discoloring from underneath.

Yes there is a box left over. I just have to find it.

And yes, rug with rubber backing. Dang. Permanent, huh?

Thanks for saving me hours and hours of trying to strip the brown off. It's not THAT bad. I notice it because I know my kitchen floor. My mom, who I moved in with me 6 months ago, hasn't noticed it at all.

Thanks.
