Vinyl Flooring

I want to remove the vinyl flooring in the bathroom and replace with ceramic or vinyl tiles. How do I do this?

Concrete Subfloor:

Pull the top layer of plastic up, if you can't get under the felt, on a full spread installation.
Mop the flet and adhesive that is left and let it sit for 5 minutes. then mop again and get on your knees and start scraping with a 4" wide flooring razor scraper. The wider stad up scrapers don't have the leverage needed to completely remove all the debris.
Remove all the adhesive to a clean slab.

Wood Subfloor:

Pull the " underlayment and vinyl all in one demo. Don't bother pulling the vinyl and then the underlayment. Get it all out of there in one tearout!!!

if your putting down ceramic tile, it is a good idea to use 3/4" exterior grade plywood. the most important thing about installing ceramic, is stability. you dont want the ceramic to crack
