vinyl over linoleum?

We have a small bathroom with an existing sheet of linoleum flooring. It is in decent shape and is very flat. We purchased Armstrong durable peel and stick tiles and were wondering if we could place these overtop? When we tested a small area of the floor by laying them overtop, it seemed fine. Also wanted to know if we should remove the toilet so that we don't have that gap that always seems to exist when you simply cut around it. Thanks

Yes, remove the toilet, and buy a new wax seal ring.

If the lino is down tight, the only reason not to go over it directly would be the oils in real lino. Skim coat first with Ardex, SD-F Feather Finish.
