Question

I just put self-stick vinyl tiles over an old sheet vinyl floor. Some of the adhesive managed to get on top of the tiles. How do I remove it without damaging the tile surface?

Thumbs up

I've sealed and waxed dozens of new floors. The easiest way to remove the adhesive is with either paint thinner or varsol. Take a clean white rag, wrap it around your finger and put your finger into the top of the bottle of cleaner. Then, simply rub the adhesive and it will come off very easily.

DO NOT POUR THE CLEANER ON THE TILE. This will seep between the tiles and dissolve the adhesive below.
