Vinyl Peel and Stick subfloor

I recently purchased some vinyl peel and stick tiles for my kitchen, however I did so without reading the manufacturers suggested subfloor. I currently have a particle board subfloor, which is not suggested for use with vinyl peel and stick. Is there any way to prep the particle board so that I can still use the tiles I have purchased? I do not want to tear up my subfloor and start from scratch. Thanks.

install some underlayment grade 1/4"plywood on the existing subfloor.

I am about to have a new lineoleum floor installed and I also have to replace a piece of the luwan (sp?). I found that the luwan is covering an old lineoleum floor and that there are some sections that are not level. Two questions: 1) what should I use to level the floor (without having to remove the old lineoleum)? 2) what do I use to secure the new luwan to the floor (nails, screws or staples)?Read More

Glue coming up between vinyl tiles

Hello, My hubby and I layed vinyl tiles in our kitchen last August. We were concerned that they wouldn't stay stuck down, so we used an adhesive. We followed the directions on the can, spread the adhesive and let it set, then put the tiles down. They looked great for about 2 weeks, then the glue started coming up between the tiles, which of course everything sticks to, dog hair, cat hair, dirt. I am constantly cleaning these :wall: . Is there any kind of sealant that I can put on the floor that will keep the glue from coming up? I was thinking about polyurethaning the floor, but didn't know if it would hurt the vinyl? Thanks!
