Removing Vinyl Tile Adhesive without harming linoleum.

Our landlady put very cheap self stick vinyl tile over perfectly good linoleum. The tile is a nightmare and is sliding out of place in multiple spots. We are letting her know we want to remove it, but I want to know how I can remove the adhesive without hurting the linoleum. What is the best product to clean it up? The tiles come up with no problem, they peel right off! I can't wait to get rid of this terrible floor!

Thanks,

A rag dampened with mineral spirits will probably remove the adhesive without damage to the old floor covering.

Turn off all pilot lights!!!

Charcoal lighter fluid works excellent. The Naptha is the key. Which mineral spirits doesn't have.

wd40 or goo b gone . I just stripped self stick tiles off bathroom floor , sprayed it with wd40 , and used a plastic putty knife to scrape the glue off , worked well and didnt risk fire .
