Laying individual vinyl tile on masonite board??

I am doing a semi remodel of the kitchen. I am laying individual vinyl tile down after I rip up the 9X9 asbestos tile!! Under that there is masonite board I think!! It is borwn and the top layer of it came up w/ 3 of the tile that was lose and I picked up. I could send a pic if anyone knows about this stuff of what it looks like. The floor is level thank god!!! Anyone who knows let me know please!! THANKS

I had a guy from the flooring store come measure it and give me a quote on his flooring and it was going to run around 1k installed!! He was going to check to see wether or not I could lay that on top of the masonite?? if it was realy cleaned well and stuff. Well thanks for the info
