Question

There is a small bubble in the middle of the vinyl flooring. If I press on it with my finger it feels like a staple is coming up. How can I push the staple back down without cutting the flooring. If I just hit it with a hammer I am afraid the staple will pop through the flooring. Thanks for any advice

Thumbs down

Sorry, but I can't think of any way of pushing the staple down without cutting the floor. Maybe you can lift the floor up. However, if it was installed properly, it's probably glued all over.

Cool

Try marking the spot using a reference and see if the spot underneath is open like unfinished basement. Maybe the staple is backing out because it didn't hit any thing solid and you will get lucky and can pull it back down / out from below.
