Underlayment Staples

I have a 3/4" thick subfloor and want to install 1/4" ply as an underlayment. Following the stapling patters of 2" around the room and 4" spacing in the field would 1" staples with a 1/4" crown be sufficient?

Personally, I would use 3/4" staples. If you go with 1", they may blow through.
