Glue on Self-Stick Tile

We are putting self-stick vinyl tile on our floor. It is light color. Some of the glue is coming up at the seams which is making the seams look dirty. What is the best thing to use to clean off the glue.

Usually the manufacture will state the recommended chemical for removing adhesive from floor tile. Check the box first and follow their instructions. Baring that, Mineral spirits will usually remove the adhesive without damaging the flooring tile. Use a small amount on a rag, clean the seams and wipe dry with a clean rag. All you want to do is get the adhesive off, not get so much on the floor that it will seap into the seam and compromise the seal undreneath the tile. Patience is the key here.
