vinyl to hardwood transition piece?

I have a vinyl floor that butts up to hardwoods in a doorway. The vinyl sits just barely higher than the hardwood. Any ideas for what type of transition piece to use?

I imagine it's best to nail through the vinyl surface into wood opposed to nailing into hardwood.

Transitioning across almost matching surfaces can be tricky. One problem with wooden, thin, transitions is that they will tend to break or split in time. Make them too thick and they become trip hazards. Not seeing the transition, I can only suggest a metal transition strip across the doorway. You may be able to find one in a dark color or even in a woodgrain to match your flooring.

Here is a photo of the transition. I was thinking maybe a brushed nickel metal transition to match the faucet and fixtures? Would it be the strip that has the angle that is slightly higher up on one side or would it be a piece that is completely flat? And do I nail it into the hardwood or through the sheet vinyl?

With a seam that perfect, the most I would try would be one of these. Yes, nail through the vinyl if possible. TrafficMASTER Pewter Fluted 36 in. x 1-1/4 in. Seam Binder-18527 - The Home Depot
